SMELLS AND BELLS ON 32-6 BOX ALARM RESULTS IN VENDING MACHINE ON FIRE

Saturday, January 21, 2012 This morning as the 5 inches of snow was coming to an end a box alarm was struck for the AAA headquarters building in 32's first due. Engine 32-1 (Capt. Strausbaugh) responded shortly after dispatch and was advised of smoke on the first division by communications. The Wagon laid a line out from the entrance to the complex with nothing showing. Quint 37 picked up the Wagon's line and Chief 37-2 was first chief to arrive and took command. Tower 32 (FF Enders) arrived laddering the building, assisting on division 1, and investigating on the roof. Division 1 reported smoke on the first floor and heavy odor of electrical burning. In a few minutes crews found a vending machine on fire in the cafeteria. Crews went ready after picking up lines and ladders.
