NIMS REQUIRMENTS FOR STAFF
I know NIMS is a 4 letter word to most of you but the fact is the National Government, FEMA and Dept of Homeland Security require us to step up to the plate and take the classes.
So here is the low-down.  Last year EVERY responder, including firefighters, emts, police, garbage men, PPL linemen, etc. needed IS-700.  Which can be found online at www.fema.gov.  Going through the training folders there is a limited number that have either taken the course or turned in their certificates.
This year ALL RESPONDERS need in addition to the previous IS-700, IS-100 and IS-200.
Also, ALL OFFICERS need to take an additional course of I-800 or IS-800.
All the online courses may be taken here:  http://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/IS/crslist.asp.  Once complete you will get an email if you pass or fail. Before you hit submit on the answer page, PRINT YOUR ANSWERS.  With printing the answers, if you are unsucessful with your test results you can atleast go back and try to find your errors to retake the test and pass.
Along with your email you will receive a certificate in the mail.  Make a copy of the certificate and place in the training officer's mailbox or processing and filing.
